ACS GAS TRAINING AND ASSESSMENTS

Our state of the art training centre based in Bedwas, Caerphilly, South Wales provides candidates with the facilities to learn and take assessments in an environment that is indicative of today’s standards in both domestic and commercial and renewable installations. All of our training is delivered by time served gas engineers that understand the challenges faced by tradesmen and women working in todays market filled with emerging technology that other providers may not cover in their training. Our facilities and programmes in Domestic, Commercial and renewable installations are testimony to this.
We don’t just concentrate on assessments, as standard practice we offer help with planning your route to gas certification, advice on funding, best prices on all of our training courses and assessments and an efficient service with full help and guidance if you need it after you have completed your assessments.


ACS GAS TRAINING AND ASSESSMENTS

Category 1 Candidate
The ACS assessments for first time Category 1 applications SHALL be relevant to the presented qualification unless additional evidence is presented to show that their work experience is relevant.
Category 2 Candidate
Hold qualifications detailed in Guidance Note 8 and provide written evidence to the AC confirming that they have undertaken work experience and approved training for the range of assessments to be undertaken.
That evidence shall include :
•a written statement from a registered business detailing precisely the type, range and volume of gas work carried out.
•a certificate of achievement or written statement from the training provider where the gas training has been carried out. This evidence rule applies equally for candidates with Gas work experience gained legally from sectors of Industry outside of the scope of the Gas Safety Installation & Use Regulations. Are undertaking a vocational qualification which has a requirement of gas work to be included, and where ACS certification is an integral part of that qualification or Meet the requirements of Guidance Note 8 (Candidates with Gas work experience gained legally from sectors of Industry outside of the scope of the Gas Safety Installation & Use Regulations). Applicants that do not satisfy the criteria of Categories 1 or 2 shall be classified as a new entrant to the industry?
Limited Scope
A limited Scope Candidate is an operative who requires partial qualification to work in a non-domestic gas environment, e.g., to work as a pipe fitter
Category 3 Candidate
A candidate new to the Gas Industry (or UK Gas Industry) may gain entry through our Pathway To Gas course.
New Entrants - IGEM/IG/1 Standards of Training in Gas Work
New Entrants entering the gas industry after 1st October 2017 are required to complete approved training in accordance to the requirements of IGEM/IG/1 and covering the relevant Training Specification. On completion of successful training a Certificate of Training must be provided.
Category 1 Candidate
